1 | What is 'Moss Art'?

Each of our handcrafted moss art pieces features real, organic moss that has undergone a special stabilization, or 'preserving,' process. This procedure replaces the moss's natural water content with a safe preservative, effectively 'freezing' it in time while retaining its original texture and shape.

Our Entire Moss Art Range is zero-maintenance, timeless designs that brings nature indoors effortlessly.

2 | Care

We describe our moss art as 'zero-maintenance' because, unlike living plants, it requires no physical upkeep. You can count on years, even decades, of consistent vibrancy.

However, there are a few simple 'do's and don'ts' to ensure its lasting beauty:

2.1 | Light

Preserved moss thrives best in indirect light. Too much direct sunlight can fade the moss's color over extended periods. We suggest placing your moss art in similar conditions to where you'd keep a terrarium: bright, but out of direct sun.

2.2 | Water

Since our moss art pieces are preserved, they do not require any watering. Applying water can cause mold/ fungus and may alter the moss's texture. So, please do not water or mist your moss art.

2.3 | Humidity (and moisture marks)

Moss art can tolerate low to medium humidity environments, and even occasional high humidity. However, we advise keeping your piece out of direct contact with water and away from consistently high humidity levels. Excessive moisture can harm the moss and lead to more condensation on the glass.

If you notice moisture marks on the glassware or near the moss, gently dab the areas with a cotton swab or a piece of kitchen paper.

2.4 | Dusting

Over time, some dust may naturally settle on your moss art. We recommend using a soft, non-stiff paintbrush to gently brush away any surface dust.

2.5 | Glass Maintenance

You might want to periodically wipe down the glassware with a microfiber cloth. For best results, we suggest using an isopropyl alcohol solution. Remember to spray the solution onto the cloth first, then wipe the glass, rather than spraying directly onto the moss art.

3 | FAQs

  • Is the moss you use artificial? No – we use real, organic moss that has been preserved.

  • Is the moss alive? No – while the moss is real, it's been preserved, meaning it is no longer living.

  • Is it truly zero-maintenance? Essentially, yes. As long as you keep your moss art away from direct sunlight and contact with water, it requires no active upkeep.

  • How long can it last? Indefinitely. If these care recommendations are followed, the moss should retain its vibrant look for many years, even decades.

  • Do the moss art products smell? Occasionally, you might notice a very faint, earthy scent from the moss. Generally, though, it is odorless.

  • Is this cork bark real? Yes, we incorporate real, dried cork bark into our designs.

  • Is there mold on my cork bark? What you're likely seeing is lichen, which is a natural growth on cork bark! If you have any concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out.

  • Is The Prism designed to be open? Yes, The Prism features an open glass pane. This design doesn't affect its zero-maintenance care requirements.

  • Can I put bugs inside my moss art? We do not recommend placing any bugs inside your moss art piece.
